People are enjoying my dancing videos, to the extend that I have been asked in person, public and privately when am I going to post the next one?
Obviously, I am enjoying the reaction which is a motivation and inspiration to keep making them.
But what has been most surprisingly has been parents telling me they have played my dancing videos to their kids and they love it. There was this particular dad who told me "I had to play one of dancing videos to my daughter four times". Needless to say, I was very moved.
So thank you so much to all of you who is following my dancing moves.
I grew up dancing
I grew up listening and dancing to Latin music. My feeling is that dancing transports you to a happy place, giving you a sensation that life is a carnival - even if it's just for those minutes a song lasts. When we dance we feel "rhythm is gonna get us" - What a great feeling.
My house was a house full of rhythm and my mum was the number one dancer in our house. I guess I inherited it from her.
I am writing this blog to tell you a little bit more about the two types of rhythm I have danced and published so far, they are Salsa and Merengue.
Salsa - My favourite one
It is my favourite one because it is very dynamic and allows you to express the rhythm with your whole body.
This amazing rhytm is originally from Cuba. "It represents a mis of Latin musical genres, but its primary component is Cuban dance. The roots of salsa originated in Eastern Cuba (Santiago de Cuba, Guantanamo) from the Cuban son (about 1920) and Afro-Cuban dance (like Afro-Cuban rumba)." It is a very contagious rhytm which is originally from the Dominican Republic. "It's a type of music and dance which has become a very popular genre throughout Latin America and also several major cities in the United States who hold Hispanic communities".
